Why does Solana no longer fit for the convention

The editor wrote the article in December 2025 by Solana Breakpoint 2025, a long-time deep-cultivated Solana eco-entrepreneur, Abhitij, behind Abu Dhabi. As a co-founder of Filament Finance, now the core builder of Bento.fun, based on several personal Breakpoint experiences, he reflected on whether the bilders were really at the centre after the Congress had become larger。
The title appears sharp, not as a denial of the pageant, but as an ecological reminder: whether the builders of the true "head-down code" have been diluted when Breakpoint, from the early developer-led gathering, evolved into a global event with the F1 grand prix, with Bitcoin MENA, and with institutions, capital and grand narratives。
Unlike a macro-judgment from an external perspective, Abhitej is concerned with those factors that are difficult to quantify but determine ecological trends - – Whether culture remains open, whether the stage is still built and whether participation remains low. The article does not attempt to give a standard answer, but it reminds us that the vitality of Solana has never been above the stage and narrative, but on the developers of products that continue to be low-key but actually built around the world。
The following is the original text:
I participated in the first Breakpoint in Lisbon and, four years later, in the latest session in Abu Dhabi. In the meantime, industrial giants have fallen, SOL prices have more than once completed the roller coaster, and Memecoin fanaticism has tested ecological resilience on many occasions。
But when Solana's ecology began to prepare for Breakpoint 2025, it had established its position:
A LEADING POSITION ON CORE INDICATORS SUCH AS TRANSACTION COUNT, APPLICATION REVENUE, DEX TURNOVER, ETC
The most culturally sensitive and user-friendly environment
Be the strongest, or at least one of the strongest, Builder ecosystems
@joeljohn's article "Most used chain base on what?" also points very well to Solana's dominant position on many dimensions in the recent past。

All of this is taking place against the backdrop of a cycle of extreme cruelty to the diaspora. The arbitragers have achieved near-extreme levels of value extraction, while the whole of the mackerel currency has run out of the market and net developer inflows have fallen to a low point. What this industry really lacks is a spark of optimism, a reminder that the encrypted world itself is still beautiful。
I think Breakpoint just lit this match。
When I walked into Abu Dhabi Solana Breakpoint, the first thing I felt was not excitement, but an ongoing movement。
Not the kind of noise and chaos. More like a dark stream. A force in motion。
This is not like entering a meeting. There is no tension, no deliberate social pressure, and there is no anxiety that I have to appear in the right room at the right time. It's closer to a festival, a place where people don't come to "pushing each other's value" but actually celebrate "creation"。
People are smiling, talking, walking freely. Developers, creators, founders, institutions, everyone has their share and the whole is not unbalanced。
This sense of harmony was evident from the outset. No group has been over-expanded: institutions have not dominated narratives; creators have not been treated as mascots; and founders have not been raised to unstoppable positions. Everyone seems to be very accessible。
And this is very rare in itself。
The longer I stay at Breakpoint, the more I feel it, not by chance, but by design。
The agenda is not a top-down indoctrination: five minutes of lightning speeches, debates, product presentations, dialogue. Short, sharp, high information density. Let more people be seen, not let a few occupy the stage repeatedly. You can clearly feel that this is not a one-time inspiration, but rather a long-term iterative outcome。
Breakpoint is not an instantaneous exercise, but rather a step-by-step search for what works。
@paarugsethi from Superteam India, a brief exchange between me and @paarugsethi, is enough to show how much solana ecology is thinking about culture and the founding communities。
Extremism
But if Solana is doing a little better than most ecology, it is: it has succeeded in dissolving elitism。
There is no hidden hierarchic structure that "only a few voices matter" here. As long as you really make something valuable, even on a small scale, you can get a platform to show。
This openness has changed everything: it reduces fear, invites more people to participate and ultimately creates kinetic energy. And the kinetic energy, it's gonna be back up。
After talking to a growing number of people, another feature became clear: within the Solana ecology, there was a sense of shared direction. It's not a dogmatic consensus, it's a "walk together" state. There are navigators, sources of signals and others who are seen as coordinates of direction. That is why ecology is not easily fragmented。
In many ecologys, people are fighting each other, narratives are conflicting, gaps are widening, and there is endless debate about what to do, but there is a delay in accepting what is working。
Solana's approach is different. If speculation works, it is accepted. If it corresponds to a new generation of Internet behaviour, it is studied, not humiliated. There is no sense of moral superiority, nor of chalk. Even memecoin, despite the confusion and predatory nature of that phase, was seen as an accelerated experiment, a stress test of the Internet capital market。
The system has collapsed, people have taken advantage of the opportunities, and lessons have been incorporated. Solana did not pretend that this had never happened, but deciphered it in an "ecosystem" way. Instead, such acceptance opens up room for innovation rather than build up resentment。
The most striking feeling this year is the Breakpoint extreme Bulder-first. The market has cooled down, prices have ceased to frenzy, and there has been a marked decline in the number of people " 100 times the number of people " overnight. But it is precisely at this time that the true builders begin to shine。
DeFi appears to be more mature; infrastructure discussions return to reality: predictability of block space, delayed optimization, how to make application implementation cheaper and more reliable。
You can see this change in specific products: Kalshi chooses Solana as a monetization infrastructure; Phantom supports consumer-oriented interface experiences; Phoenix contract for sustainability, Prop AMM, new market designs; AI, robotics, privacy-direction experiments; hackers, Superteam projects, early ideas that are still crude but real. People are here to listen and share, not to ask, "How does this token pull?"。
This energy shift is extremely important. It made the whole Conference sound, honest and product-centred。
If there's one discomfort, it's that there's still some narrow mentality in the ecology. If it wasn't Solana-only, it wouldn't be interesting."。
This idea is not unique to Solana, but it will shrink the cake. The real opportunity is not to win the next public-chain war, but to reshape the entire technology. And that can only be achieved through collaboration, not posturing。
Ironically, Solana doesn't need to speak out. Anyone who walks into Breakpoint can feel it directly. This ecology doesn't have to mock each other online. Products, cultures, Builder, kinetic energy are already loud enough。
A holiday
And that brings me back to my original conclusion that Solana is no longer fit for "meeting." Meetings are one-way, static, border-crossing. And what Solana is doing is more in line with a new generation of original forms of Internet, festivals, celebrations for builders. The space in which culture, capital, experimental spirit and conviction collide。
These festivals will only continue to grow: more alive, more immersed and more diverse. Every corner is adding a new flavor to this emerging Internet。
Breakpoint 2025, one of the best conferences I have ever attended, also clearly demonstrates where Solana is heading。
P.S.: In my view, the choice of Abu Dhabi as the venue for the event is one of the most important reasons why Breakpoint 2025 can be so important。
